Director of Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program
This is a College of Graduate Nursing administration-level position within Western University of Health Sciences and is offered in conjunction with a faculty appointment. The salary range reflects the combined administrative and faculty responsibilities.
Pay
The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. The compensation details listed reflect the base salary only.
- Minimum: $125,000.00 hourly
- Maximum: $133,250.00 hourly
About the Role
The Director of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program of the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs and postgraduate PMHNP Certificate promotes strategic partnerships to increase visibility, engagement, and integration of the PMHNP program and certificate within the College, the University, and the Community. The Director is responsible for leading, administrating, managing financial and human resources, student development, and teaching.
Responsibilities
- Provide academic and professional leadership in policy formulation.
- Handle detail-oriented assignments and maintain confidentiality.
- Use a personal computer, access information through the Internet, and communicate via e-mail.
- Work with and cooperate with supervisory personnel at all levels.
- Prioritize workload and delegate responsibility using strong organizational skills.
Requirements
- Doctoral degree in Nursing.
- Current California RN license and California PMHNP license.
- Certification in PMHNP.
- Minimum of one year of experience in higher education or nursing administration (e.g., program director, department chair).
- One year of full-time teaching experience in Nursing.
- BRN approval for teaching in a required subject area.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and via computers, telephones, and written communications.
- Ability to interact effectively with administration, faculty, staff, students, and outside contacts.
- Knowledge of historic and current nursing education practices and standards.
- Skill with the application of computer-based learning principles and practices.
- Knowledge and skill with the application of distance learning principles and standards.
- Demonstrated commitment to working in an organization that values and promotes humanism.
