Responsibilities
- Manage preconstruction activities, including design review, procurement, and bidding
- Implement, oversee, and maintain quality assurance and quality control programs
- Lead and support the successful execution of construction projects, ensuring delivery aligns with scope, schedule, and budget
- Serve as the owner’s representative, managing program and project execution with a value-added approach
- Conduct and attend project progress meetings, providing clear updates to stakeholders
- Identify and mitigate construction risks, monitor project schedules, and control associated costs
- Collaborate with business development teams to create proposals and marketing materials for new opportunities
- Ensure timely invoicing and accurate cost reporting for assigned projects, maintaining budget controls
- Develop, mentor, and manage field teams to ensure effective communication, teamwork, and execution
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements for all construction activities
- Provide technical expertise in water and wastewater infrastructure, including reviewing and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in construction management and field operations, particularly in water and wastewater infrastructure
- Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale infrastructure projects
- Relevant certifications in water and wastewater construction management, such as CCM (Certified Construction Manager) or PE (Professional Engineer)
- Extensive knowledge of construction principles, methods, and technologies related to water and wastewater facilities
- Familiarity with alternative delivery methods, including CMAR, DB, and DBB
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations
- Proficiency in project management software and field inspection tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to clients, public groups, and internal teams
- Strong problem-solving abilities, including data analysis and decision-making under pressure
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills to foster teamwork and mentor staff
- Ability to prepare and manage budgets, contracts, and project costs effectively
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed (greater than 50%)
