Director of Product Management
Job Summary
Hiive is seeking a Director of Product Management to lead our product strategy and scale our product organization. Reporting to an experienced leader, you will manage a team of Product Managers, optimize our software development lifecycle, and ensure alignment with business goals and market dynamics.
Responsibilities
- Define and evangelize the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with Hiive's long-term business goals and market conditions.
- Partner with the Director of Product Design and Engineering to optimize the software development lifecycle, ensuring smooth transitions from discovery to delivery.
- Recruit, mentor, and scale a team of Product Managers, fostering a culture of rigorous thinking, data-driven decision-making, and "extreme ownership."
- Act as the primary bridge between Product and cross-functional partners in Sales, Marketing, and Operations to ensure successful go-to-market execution.
- Implement and refine mental models for prioritization, balancing customer delight, technical debt, and revenue growth.
- Establish a gold standard for using data to validate hypotheses and measure the return on investment of shipped features.
Requirements
- 10+ years of Product Management experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership or people-management role within a high-growth startup environment.
- Experience scaling products from early stages to significant market share, particularly within complex ecosystems.
- Expert-level ability to query data, define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and use Business Intelligence (BI) tools to drive product strategy.
- The ability to distill complex technical or business trade-offs into clear, actionable narratives for executive stakeholders.
- A deep understanding of how changes in one part of a system (e.g., a marketplace) impact user behavior and business health.
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep knowledge of liquidity, clearing, or complex transactional platforms.
- A background in Software Engineering or a strong technical understanding of modern API-first architectures.
- Advanced experience with Amplitude, SQL, and Figma to facilitate close collaboration with the Design and Data teams.
- Experience managing the nuances of high-touch enterprise customers alongside a scalable product vision.
