About the role
The Director of Product, Growth will lead Mudflap's core app and card businesses, setting the product strategy for growth across these platforms. This role will involve translating company goals into clear product bets and priorities, developing and owning the product roadmap, and driving meaningful improvements to existing products.
Responsibilities
- Own Mudflap’s core app and card businesses, the primary surfaces for customer engagement, transactions, and revenue
- Set the product strategy for growth across the app and card, translating company goals into clear product bets and priorities
- Develop and own the product roadmap, streamlining complex trade-offs and focusing on business impact
- Lead the development of new growth initiatives, from early discovery through launch and scale
- Drive meaningful improvements to existing products, focusing on onboarding, activation, usage, pricing, and monetization
- Design intuitive, high-trust in-app experiences, including credit and incentive mechanics that work at scale
- Champion customer empathy: directly and regularly engage with truckers and fleet operators to understand workflows, pain points, and decision drivers
- Partner deeply with Engineering, Design, Data, Operations, Customer Support, Marketing and Finance to deliver cohesive end-to-end experiences
- Define and own growth metrics for the app and card, track performance, diagnose issues, and guide investment decisions using data
- Build a culture of learning and iteration, using experimentation and customer feedback to inform product direction
- Build, mentor, and lead a strong team of product managers, raising the bar for product thinking and execution
- Operate with a seat at the table alongside the executive leadership team, serving as a trusted partner in planning, prioritization, and long-term strategy
Requirements
8+ years in product management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Proven experience in marketplaces, fintech, payments or logistics—ideally building for small businesses or independent operators. Track record of launching successful products that drive tangible business outcomes (e.g. revenue growth, retention). Deep understanding of customer needs and strong user research skills.
