Essential Functions
- Develop and maintain contacts and relationships with major equipment manufacturers and service suppliers including but not limited to PV Modules, Wind Turbine, BESS, High Voltage Equipment and EPC Contractors to best position LRE amongst a competitive landscape.
- Support Pre-Construction and Legal teams to develop and maintain contacts and relationships with EPC Contractors in the renewable energy industry.
- Negotiate and maintain Corporate contracts in alignment with department stakeholders.
- Ensure competitive bids are obtained for purchase of capital equipment as well as service contracts and assure the pricing is consistent with established project budgets.
- Direct the development and implementation of a corporate process for measuring vendors and contractors’ performance and monitoring risk exposure to the Company.
- Carefully coordinate with LRE Legal teams to direct the development and implementation of a consistent standard for “Contract Terms and Conditions” that includes meaningful penalties and liquidated damages for all procurement and construction contracts to assure timely and quality performance by contractors.
- Ensure all project contracts meet or exceed the required design, schedule, cost, compliance and safety requirements with appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
- Carefully coordinate with Finance & Treasury for spend and cashflow forecasting.
- Lead the development of LRE Supplier Code of Conduct and ensure compliance is tracked and measured in partnership with cross department key stakeholders.
- Manage and Report market trends, asset value, lead times and commodities quarterly.
Qualifications
- BS degree from an accredited university. An advanced degree is desirable.
- A minimum of ten (10+) years in procurement and contract negotiations applicable to the construction of power generation facilities and/or transmission or electrical systems, including a minimum of five (5) years procurement experience applicable to renewables, or related field, and two (2) years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen alongside knowledge of equipment and service supply contracts for major infrastructure projects and inherent contractual risks.
- Must be capable of working and interacting harmoniously with various internal functional groups and individuals and maintaining effective communication throughout the organization.
- Must have a successful record of dealing with and interacting with external contractors, vendors and project stakeholders.
- Must have a demonstrable sense of urgency when faced with important procurement issues that impact the schedule and budgets of renewable projects.
- Able to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced business environment.
- Able to travel as required to meet with service providers and counterparties.
