Director of Practice Management - RIA OperationsBrentwood, NY $180,000-$200,000 base salary plus bonus 100% Onsite | Full-Time Independent RIA / Wealth ManagementAbout the OpportunityWe’re partnering with a growing independent RIA that is looking for a true Director of Practice Management to run the internal business side of the firm.This is not an advisor role, sales role, or investment-management role. This is for someone who has already led operations inside an RIA or wealth management firm and knows how to build structure, improve workflows, develop people, and create a more consistent client-service experience.The right person will help take day-to-day business management off the founder’s plate so the firm can continue growing while protecting its client-first, JOY-based planning experience.What You’ll Be DoingLead daily operations across the advisory practice.Manage relationship managers, client-service staff, and administrative team members.Build clearer workflows, handoffs, accountability, and operating rhythms.Create training, onboarding, and development plans for the team.Coach employees through one-on-ones, performance reviews, and development conversations.Improve client-service consistency across onboarding, reviews, follow-up, and ongoing support.Build KPIs, reporting, and scorecards where needed to track execution.Support hiring, onboarding, retention, HR administration, vendors, benefits coordination, PTO, and office operations.Work closely with the founder to reduce daily operational bottlenecks.Coordinate with the parent company on technology, planning, investments, and operational support.What They’re Looking For10+ years of experience inside an independent RIA or wealth management firm.5+ years of leadership experience within an RIA or advisory practice.Strong experience managing day-to-day operations, client-service workflows, relationship managers, and administrative teams.Proven ability to build training programs, onboarding processes, KPIs, reporting, workflows, and accountability systems.Experience hiring, coaching, managing performance, and developing employees.Deep understanding of RIA operations, CRM/workflow systems, custodial processes, client onboarding, financial planning support, and advisory-service delivery.Strong executive presence and ability to earn trust with an experienced team.Comfortable working with a direct, entrepreneurial founder.Able to lead from behind the scenes without needing to be the public face of the firm.What This Role Is NotNot a first-time management role.Not a financial advisor seat.Not a sales or production role.Not an investment-management role.No licenses required.Bringing clients is a plus, but not required.Why You’ll Want This Role$180,000-$200,000 base salary plus bonusHigh-impact leadership role inside a growing RIAOpportunity to build the operating structure, training, accountability, and team rhythmDirect partnership with the founderStrong fit for someone who enjoys making a firm better from the insideChance to lead the internal engine of a client-focused wealth management practice MOHR Talent is an equal-opportunity employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local nondiscrimination laws.
