About the role

Voyage Financial Advisors is an independent financial services practice of Thrivent in Wisconsin and Michigan. We are growing and adding a Director of Planning Operations to our team, which serves clients mainly in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Minnesota with a focus on complete financial planning.

Responsibilities

  • Actively prepare financial analysis and develop financial plans, serving as a hands-on planner day to day, in a fast-paced high-producing environment.
  • Integrate Microsoft Co-Pilot and other AI tools into process and operations.
  • Lead, coach, and develop members of the financial planning team.
  • Oversee preparation, review, and delivery of comprehensive financial plans and ensure accuracy and process efficiency.
  • Aid in the creation of financial plans and assist the advisory team by creating straightforward implementation steps for the advisors to help drive revenue growth through implementation.
  • Partner with advisors to support client planning strategy, meeting preparation, and preparing advisor meeting guides.
  • Control and form processes for RMDs, internal payment of policies, death claims, and opportunities.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of client data within planning and CRM systems.
  • Improve and scale planning and meeting prep workflows, tasks, and opportunities to enhance efficiency and service quality.
  • Serve as a senior planning resource on complex client cases.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive client and firm information.
  • Ensure adherence to Thrivent policies, compliance standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to directly prepare meetings for 20-40 appointments per week.

Requirements

  • Serious consideration of Securities (Series 7 and 66 or Series 7, 63 and 65) and resident state Life, Health and Annuities registration.
  • Satisfactory background check, fingerprinting, and securities registration and/or insurance licensing verification, if applicable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Financial Planning, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field preferred.
  • Project and Process management experience.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in financial planning or related financial services roles.
  • CFP® designation preferred or ability to obtain within 2 years of start date.
  • Exceptional people, leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with financial planning tools, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office.

Benefits

Full compensation range of $90,000-$135,000 based on experience. Retirement Plan, Paid Time Off, Company Profit Sharing Plan, Access to Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance, Employer Paid Life and Disability Insurance.

Pay

$90,000 - $135,000 annually

Schedule

Full-time role that requires to be in the office at least 3 days per week preferred.

Skills
