About the role

The Director of Financial Planning at Spinnaker Investment Group, LLC plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive financial planning services to sophisticated individuals and families. This position involves partnering closely with Wealth Advisors to develop, build, and maintain comprehensive financial plans tailored to clients' goals.

Responsibilities

• Develop, build, and maintain comprehensive financial plans tailored to clients' goals, including retirement, tax, estate, and cash flow planning
• Analyze client financial documents (tax returns, estate documents, investment statements, insurance policies, etc.) to identify planning opportunities and risks
• Manage and maintain accurate client financial data within planning software and CRM systems
• Partner with Wealth Advisors to prepare for client meetings, including modeling scenarios and presenting planning recommendations
• Stay current on tax law, estate planning strategies, and regulatory changes that may impact client plans
• Collaborate with clients' outside professionals (CPAs, attorneys) as needed to ensure cohesive planning
• Create and refine internal financial planning processes and best practices

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Communications or related field
• CFP® designation required (or actively pursuing, with completion expected within 12 months)
• 5+ years of experience in financial planning, ideally within a wealth management or RIA environment
• Proficiency with financial planning software (e.g., eMoney, MoneyGuidePro, or Wealth.com)
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail in document review and data management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex planning concepts for clients
• Ability to manage multiple client relationships and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• High level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive client information
