Director of Physician Services II

About the role
The Director of Physician Services (DPS) II is a strategic leader who oversees and takes ownership of a clinical operations market with 51 or more providers. The DPS II provides support to hospital facilities operations management related to physicians, including primary care, specialists, and subspecialists who practice in hospital and outpatient settings. Responsibilities include oversight of the operations, budget, and general management of a portfolio of practices within a defined geographic area or specialty. This individual will have strategic, ongoing communications and interactions with the relevant hospital division from both a strategic and tactical standpoint. Building effective partnerships with hospital and operations team members is integral to success in this role.
Responsibilities

- Collaborate effectively with Division service line leaders and hospital business development leaders
- Proactively identify practice/business development opportunities to increase market share
- Direct and manage strategic projects for areas such as patient flow, patient satisfaction, practice volume, billing and collections, service utilization, coding, physician and staff training
- Have strategic and tactical operational responsibility for the business and clinical functions through administrative and clinical staff including providers, front desk, medical records, nursing, and ancillary services to ensure maximum utilization of resources and the efficient delivery of services of assigned practices, including Human Resources responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor practice budgets including analyzing financial impact of changes and forecasts, and expenditures; recommend corrective action as required
- Supervisory responsibility for physicians and practice staff as well as meet regularly with constituents including operations leadership, physicians, and hospital administration to review practice strategy, market and division goals, financial performance, and practice key indicators
- Oversee physician recruiting and contracting in collaboration with other PSG colleagues
- Work with physicians and division leadership to provide innovative practice growth and quality solutions that will maintain and improve patient outcomes and satisfaction
- Promote consistent patient interactions that advance the agenda of increased patient satisfaction
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in health or business administration required
- Master’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience preferred
- CMPE completion preferred
- 3+ years of leadership experience in practice management of multiple locations required
- 5+ years of relevant clinical operations experience required
