Director of Physician Services I
About the role
The Director of Physician Services (DPS) is a strategic leader overseeing and taking ownership of a clinical operations market with around 25 providers across specialty clinics in the Tampa area. Coverage will also be needed in the North Tampa market, including Hudson and Brooksville markets.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate an uncompromising commitment to delivering exceptional care to create an unmatched value proposition for our patients
- Identify opportunities for improvement and innovation, remove barriers and resistance, and enable desirable behavior
- Collaborate effectively with Division service line leaders and hospital business development leaders
- Proactively identify practice/business development opportunities to increase market share
- Direct and manage strategic projects for areas such as patient flow, patient satisfaction, practice volume, billing and collections, service utilization, coding, physician and staff training
- Develop, implement and monitor practice budgets including analyzing financial impact of changes and forecasts, and expenditures
- Recommends corrective action as required
- Oversee physician recruiting and contracting in collaboration with other Physician Services colleagues
- Work with physicians and division leadership to provide innovative practice growth and quality solutions that will maintain and improve patient outcomes and satisfaction
- Promote consistent patient interactions that advance the agenda of increased patient satisfaction
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Three plus years of leadership experience in practice management of multiple locations. Five plus years of relevant clinical operations experience. Effective working knowledge of healthcare financial management, operations, and strategy, specifically medical practice accounting, third party reimbursement issues, patient flow and facilities management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required, and Master’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience preferred
- CMPE completion is a plus
