About the role
The Director of Philanthropy & Executive Director of the ECTC Foundation oversees the ECTC Foundation's operations, engages donors, and cultivates philanthropic support for student success and community impact.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Executive Director of the ECTC Foundation and lead Foundation operations.
- Prepare meeting materials, reports, and strategic recommendations for the Foundation Board of Directors.
- Collaborate with Foundation officers, committees, and volunteers to advance Foundation priorities.
- Manage a portfolio of philanthropic relationships, including donors, volunteers, and community leaders.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase annual, major, planned, endowed, corporate, foundation, and unrestricted giving.
- Cultivate, solicit, and steward philanthropic gifts from donors, volunteers, and community leaders.
- Represent ECTC and the Foundation at College and community events, including fundraising events.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, KCTCS policies and procedures, and ethical fundraising standards.
- Collaborate with Advancement Services to ensure accurate documentation of donor interactions, gift commitments, and fundraising activity within Raiser's Edge.
- Utilize fundraising metrics and constituent data to guide strategy and evaluate progress.
- Assist with campaign planning, annual fundraising initiatives, and strategic advancement projects.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree or relevant nonprofit certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising, nonprofit leadership, higher education, foundation management, or a related field.
- Skills: Proven ability to build authentic, long-term relationships with donors, volunteers, and community leaders; demonstrated success cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding philanthropic gifts; experience supporting nonprofit or foundation governance and working effectively with volunteer boards; excellent interpersonal, presentation, negotiation, and communication skills; strong organizational, project management, and execution skills; ability to analyze information, solve problems, and exercise sound professional judgment; ability to collaborate effectively across departments and build partnerships throughout the College and community; strong written communication skills for proposals, stewardship materials, reports, and donor correspondence; ability to apply a high level of attention to detail; experience with constituent relationship management (CRM) systems such as Raiser's Edge or similar fundraising software; ability to apply diplomacy and professional judgement; commitment to ethical fundraising, donor confidentiality, and stewardship of philanthropic resources; proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with data visualization, reporting tools, or graphic design is a plus.
