Director of Philanthropy

About the role

The Philanthropy Director will work closely with the President of the Trustbridge Foundation and division leadership to develop, implement, and lead fundraising strategies that advance philanthropic support for the Foundation and its affiliates. This role is responsible for achieving fundraising goals, cultivating donor relationships, managing a personal portfolio of major donors and prospects, and supervising philanthropy team members. The Director acts as an ambassador for the organization, representing its mission and values across the community.

This position requires travel throughout Broward County and occasional weekend work for fundraising events.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement strategy for annual, major, and planned gifts through strategic donor relationship management (identify, cultivate, solicit, steward, upgrade) to meet short- and long-term organizational goals.
• Work with donors, volunteers, and staff to increase individual donor and foundation support.
• Manage a personal portfolio of 75-100 donors and prospects, with annual fundraising goals of $500K–$1M+, utilizing moves management.
• Supervise philanthropy team members, including paid staff and volunteers.
• Serve as an ambassador for Empath Health, promoting its mission and values across the community.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university; master’s degree and/or CFRE certification preferred.
• Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in philanthropy, with at least five years in major gift cultivation and closure.
• At least two years of supervisory experience with paid staff and volunteers preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and fundraising CRM.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends for fundraising events.
