About the role

The Director of Pharmacy at Raleigh General Hospital is responsible for leading all aspects of pharmacy operations, including planning, organizing, and supervising services in alignment with hospital policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements. This position collaborates with hospital leadership to implement innovative pharmacy practices, supported by proprietary CPS software, a dedicated support team, and a CPS Area Director or Senior Vice President.

Responsibilities

  • Lead pharmacy operations, aligning with hospital policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership to implement innovative pharmacy practices
  • Work alongside a dedicated support team including experts in operations, clinical, and regulatory areas
  • Support pharmacy operations with proprietary CPS software
  • Manage pharmacy staff and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient care and satisfaction
  • Oversee inventory management and medication distribution
  • Ensure adherence to quality assurance and safety protocols

Requirements

  • ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree (PharmD preferred)
  • Active West Virginia Pharmacist license in good standing
  • 3+ years of experience as a pharmacist in an acute care hospital setting
  • 2+ years of pharmacy management experience working in an acute care hospital setting
  • Demonstrated teaching, relevant professional publications, and involvement with professional organizations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a Pharmacy Practice Residency program
  • 3+ years of pharmacy management experience working in an acute care hospital setting

Qualifications

  • Active West Virginia Pharmacist license in good standing

Skills

Strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment are essential. Proficiency in using proprietary CPS software and a collaborative approach to problem-solving are also critical.

Benefits

Comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and 401(k) contribution. Salary range: $110,200 to $188,800 annually. Drug-free workplace policy.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and 401(k) contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
