Director of Overseas Manufacturing

About the role

The Director of Overseas Manufacturing and Quality will lead the strategic direction of our manufacturing network and ensure that our products are consistently built to meet customer expectations. This role requires extensive travel to China and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing strategy and execution across overseas partner network
• Partner with Product Development and Industrial Design teams to support manufacturability, cost efficiency, and quality
• Champion consistency and best-practice alignment across factory SOPs, assembly procedures, and quality control standards
• Build and maintain rigorous reporting and documentation systems
• Lead structured root-cause investigations and implement lasting solutions
• Build and develop a team of manufacturing and quality engineers
• Evaluate and help develop new manufacturing partnerships and capacity
• Own the manufacturing cost and efficiency relationship

Qualifications

• 10-15+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience
• Hands-on experience running or closely overseeing factory floor operations
• Demonstrated track record of driving improvements in product quality, yield, and profitability
• Understanding of injection molding, sheet metal, electromechanical assembly, and tooling processes
• Structured root-cause problem-solving and continuous improvement experience
• Strong reporting and documentation discipline
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively to China
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
• Mandarin fluency preferred
• Experience with connected/IoT consumer products

Pay

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
New Jersey pay range: $165,000 - $195,000 USD
