Kanin Energy is a clean energy developer that helps heavy industry decarbonize their operations by converting waste heat into carbon-free electricity.
About the role
We are seeking talented professionals to join our team and contribute to first-of-its-kind waste heat-to-power (WHP) projects across North America. These initiatives provide cheap, stable, and clean electricity to industrial facilities while reducing emissions and increasing competitiveness.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute waste heat-to-power (WHP) projects from concept through commissioning.
- Collaborate with industrial partners in sectors such as natural gas, cement, metals, refineries, chemicals, hydrogen, and glass to identify and implement WHP opportunities.
- Design and optimize Steam Rankine Cycle systems for industrial decarbonization, including boilers, turbines, condensers, and feed-pumps.
- Secure project financing, including credit facilities and public/private investment opportunities.
- Work with government and regulatory bodies to advance emissions reduction initiatives and project funding.
- Analyze and leverage data to improve WHP system efficiency and scalability.
- Support the development of carbon capture, heat pumps, and other complementary decarbonization technologies.
Requirements
- Experience in clean energy project development, industrial decarbonization, or related fields.
- Knowledge of thermodynamic cycles, particularly Steam Rankine Cycle systems.
- Familiarity with heavy industry sectors (e.g., natural gas, cement, metals, refineries, chemicals).
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Commitment to sustainability and reducing industrial emissions.
Benefits
- Opportunity to work on groundbreaking waste heat-to-power projects with significant environmental impact.
- Collaboration with industry leaders and government partners to advance decarbonization goals.
- Professional growth in a rapidly expanding clean energy sector.
