Director of Operations, Rowing

Responsibilities

• Directs and manages all aspects of team travel.
• Makes decisions regarding reservations and costs for airline travel, charter buses, hotels, and meals.
• Aid with game scheduling and facility booking needs for the team.
• Balances and maintains annual budget forecasting and projecting.
• This includes managing and monitoring the program's annual operating budget, including team travel, scholarships, housing, meals, parking, recruiting travel, and supplies.
• Act as liaison between coaches and senior administrators throughout UM.
• Share in representation of program's interest with community relations (player appearances).
• Handles all aspects of purchasing equipment for sport.
• Serve as Program's liaison with Adidas, including monitoring equipment inventory.
• Handle and complete the bid process, and issue all equipment, clothing, shoes, and gear to athletes, coaches, and staff for games, practices, and workouts.
• Manage, coordinate, and supervise the student management support staff.
• Responsible for maintaining compliance with NCAA, Atlantic Coast Conference, institutional and departmental policies, and procedures.
• Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.
• Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Knowledge of NCAA, Atlantic Coast Conference, institutional and departmental policies and procedures.
• Experience with budgeting and financial management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
