About the Role

The Director of Operations owns the quality of restaurant operations across the Houston market and is obsessed with building a culture of operational excellence. You'll align teams around performance goals, lead execution, and coach management teams to hit high operational standards while growing sales and profits. You make Velvet Taco a place people are proud to work—and a place guests can't stop talking about.

Responsibilities

• People Leader – Develop management teams by setting challenging and measurable goals. Adapt communication and feedback styles to the audience, handle performance conversations constructively, and hold teams accountable.
• Talent Development – Drive continuous improvement for your teams and yourself.
• Workforce Planning – Build succession plans, spot talent at every level, and maintain a strong bench.
• Operations – Apply P&L acumen to build action plans that raise the bar. Champion change and inspire teams to evolve.
• Culinary – Ensure culinary standards are met, including food safety, storage, prep recipes, and line procedures.
• Food Safety – Maintain clean, compliant, and professional standards while keeping energy high.
• Financial Aptitude – Build annual plans, take initiative, and hit your numbers.
• New Restaurant Openings – Lead and execute new restaurant openings as we expand in Houston.
