Director of Operations

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Director of Operations to plan and direct line management and related manufacturing support activities, including manufacturing floor inspection, manufacturing engineering, materials management, and safety/environmental engineering. This role contributes to sales objectives, prepares annual budgets, and is responsible for the profit and loss of the division.
Responsibilities
- Manage manufacturing operations, including planning, scheduling, organizing, and staffing manufacturing and support functions.
- Ensure proper staffing, coordination, and training of personnel to perform their duties effectively.
- Interpret company sales forecasts and shop orders to establish accurate manufacturing plans, ensuring defect-free product delivery on time.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Sales, and new product development to maintain awareness of current and future product plans.
- Develop and manage material control, manufacturing control, production scheduling, and planning systems to meet output schedules.
- Maintain material and parts inventories to fulfill production schedules with minimum inventory expense.
- Plan and develop manufacturing facilities and equipment for efficient production.
- Work with tooling/engineering to investigate product quality and manufacturing problems and determine cost-efficient solutions.
- Develop and assist with the annual budget of all departments; develop and manage standard costs.
- Recommend pricing based on the company’s profit objectives and manage the division’s profit and loss.
- Meet or exceed all Total Quality Management (TQM) measurements as agreed upon annually.
- Serve as a member of the executive and steering teams responsible for developing company policies and plans.
- Participate in the development of company business policies as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
- 8-10 years of precision manufacturing experience, including some experience in molding.
- 10 years in a management role.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Working knowledge of computerized manufacturing systems.
This position is located in East Hanover, NJ.
Pay
Pay range: $150,000 - $180,000. The base salary will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal consistency.
