About the role
The Director of Operations, working collaboratively with a Market Medical Director and Vice President of Operations, is responsible for, but not limited to, the operational performance, client account management, and overall management oversight of OBHG’s hospitalist programs within their assigned geographic area of responsibility.
Essential Responsibilities
- Builds, develops and manages operational relationships capable of achieving the goals of OBHG and the partner hospital, as well as community physician practices.
- Sets and confirms hospital partner goals and performance objectives as they relate to OBHG services for each of the programs within their assigned geographic area and ensures OBHG’s performance and demonstration of those goals.
- Supports the customer onboarding team with the successful and timely implementation of new OBHG programs.
- Oversees hospital contract including fee structure.
- Assists with OBED setup, policy recommendations, compliance recommendations and other related items.
- Supports clinical/hospital policies with MMD and/or Site Director.
- Facilitates the answering of any OSA billing questions from hospital and community physicians.
- Supports relationships with community physicians, including OSA meetings with MMD and/or Site Directors.
- Works with the Marketing departments of OBHG and the partner hospital regarding press releases and marketing material.
- Engages with community physicians to ensure they are fully aware of our program and the services we offer.
- Evaluates operational issues to determine whether OBHG remains competitive and current with the latest trends in healthcare delivery and shares findings with the Vice President of Operations and/or Market Medical Director.
- Participates in special projects and other administrative responsibilities as assigned.
- Works with Business Development and Sales team in the pursuit of new business within their assigned geographic area of responsibility or as directed.
Required Qualifications/Skills
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or other related field or equivalent experience.
- Master’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or other related fields are strongly preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of progressively more responsible leadership experience (including operations supervisor) in the healthcare/medical services industry.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent leadership and management skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including negotiations.
- Requires interpersonal skills to be able to interact effectively with all levels of hospital staff, medical staff, patients, governmental and other external agencies, members of the general public in sensitive, delicate, and/or complex situations.
- Must be able to make effective presentations before a variety of internal and external audiences.
- Problem solving skills are necessary to prioritize assignments and make decisions in the best interest of the company and patient care.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
