Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the organization's operational strategy.

  • Ensure timely delivery of products and services.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement solutions.
  • Drive Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and monitor Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Automate workflows where appropriate.
  • Measure and improve productivity across departments.
  • Oversee procurement, inventory, warehousing, and logistics operations.
  • Ensure efficient inventory management.
  • Optimize vendor relationships and procurement strategies.
  • Improve supply chain efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure timely delivery and distribution.
  • Prepare and manage the operations budget.
  • Monitor operational costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Improve operational profitability.
  • Ensure efficient resource allocation.
  • Analyze operational financial performance.
  • Ensure exceptional service delivery.
  • Improve customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Resolve operational issues affecting customers.
  • Monitor service quality standards.
  • Implement customer-centric operational improvements.
  • Identify operational risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee health, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  • Conduct operational audits.
  • Champion operational technology initiatives.
  • Utilize operational analytics for decision-making.
  • Improve digital workflow adoption.
  • Drive automation initiatives.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing operations teams.
  • Set departmental goals and KPIs.
  • Conduct performance evaluations.
  • Promote employee engagement and accountability.
  • Build leadership capability within the operations function.
  • Develop strategic relationships with suppliers and partners.
  • Negotiate contracts and service agreements.
  • Evaluate vendor performance.
  • Ensure suppliers meet quality and delivery expectations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Management, or a related field. A Master's Degree (MBA or Operations Management) is highly preferred.
  • Professional Certifications: One or more of the following is desirable: Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt, Certified Operations Manager (COM), Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) certification (advantageous), or Institute of Directors (IoD) certification.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10–15 years of progressive operations management experience. At least 5 years in a senior leadership or executive operations role. Demonstrated success in leading large, cross-functional teams. Experience in process optimization, business transformation, and operational strategy. Strong financial and commercial management experience.
