Director of Oncology Services

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for all oncology service lines and designated work units.
• Develop, manage, and monitor operational and capital budgets.
• Implement, evaluate, and continuously improve oncology services and programs.
• Lead quality, patient safety, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, accreditation, and legal requirements.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians, providers, and key stakeholders.
• Drive staffing effectiveness, workforce engagement, and operational efficiency.
• Monitor departmental performance metrics and implement action plans to achieve goals.
• Lead special projects and organizational initiatives as assigned.
• Supervise and develop a team of 50+ employees.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Allied Health, Healthcare Management, or a related field. 5–10 years of healthcare administration experience.
• PREFERRED: Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related discipline. 5 or more years of progressive management experience. Prior oncology and/or infusion therapy leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory and legal requirements. Knowledge of oncology operations, clinical workflows, and industry-related equipment. Understanding of oncology patient safety considerations and treatment-related risks. Demonstrated ability to lead complex departmental operations and manage large teams. Experience with operational and capital budgeting. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of hospital and ambulatory billing processes. Strong organizational, leadership, and team-building abilities. Sound judgment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills. Ability to work independently while maintaining professionalism, discretion, and accountability.
