Director of Nursing

About the role

The Director of Nursing at The Gallery at Hacienda Lakes is a full-time, on-site leadership position based in Venice, FL. This role oversees all clinical and nursing services within the community.

Responsibilities

• Oversee nursing staff scheduling, supervision, and performance
• Ensure resident care plans are implemented accurately and updated as needed
• Monitor quality of care, infection control practices, regulatory compliance, and documentation standards
• Respond to changes in residents' health status and coordinate with physicians and other healthcare professionals
• Conduct rounds, review clinical reports, mentor and train nursing team members
• Support long-term care initiatives
• Collaborate with administrative leadership on policies, procedures, and improvement efforts

Qualifications

• Strong Nursing Management skills, including staff supervision, scheduling, performance evaluation, and team leadership
• Clinical Nursing and Medicine knowledge to assess residents, develop care plans, and coordinate treatment with interdisciplinary teams
• Experience in Infection Control, including implementing protocols, monitoring compliance, and educating staff on best practices
• Background in Long-term Care, with understanding of resident-centered care, regulatory requirements, and quality improvement in senior living settings
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida, in good standing
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent; advanced education or certifications in gerontology or nursing leadership are advantageous
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate documentation, and use electronic health records effectively
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and conflict-resolution skills, with a commitment to ethical, non-discriminatory care and inclusive workplace practices
