About the role
The Director of Nursing (DON) leads, directs, analyzes, and evaluates nursing services. They also supervise the nursing team and others, assuming charge responsibilities in the absence of the Administrator/Housing Director.
Responsibilities
- Provides administrative and clinical leadership for nursing staff to promote high quality care.
- Develops, revises, monitors, and implements the department budget to ensure appropriate resources.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates the nursing department, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Serves as a nursing liaison with internal/external groups, residents/families, general public, and other healthcare providers.
Requirements
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse in good standing.
- At least two (2) years of RN experience, with at least one (1) year in long-term care, home care, or a related area.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Able to make independent decisions and prioritize duties.
- Able to read, write, and communicate in English.
