About the role

Administer the nursing program in a long-term care facility to maintain standards of resident care. Facilitate optimization of the geriatric care process to improve quality and efficiency of service. Oversee the overall quality of care provided by nursing personnel, advise medical staff and administrators on nursing service matters, and interpret policies to staff and community groups. Monitor nursing staff operations for compliance with organizational and governmental standards. Schedule staff, conduct performance reviews, and provide nursing care to residents as needed.

Responsible for day-to-day operations of the long-term care facility, including quality of resident care, program management, environmental safety, budget constraints, and regulatory compliance. Develop and implement marketing activities, community events, and media programs. Manage clinical, operational, and administrative activities to meet department objectives. Lead the development and execution of clinical programs, policies, procedures, and protocols, ensuring system integration and adherence.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing required; graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred (e.g., CCNE, ACEN, NLN CNEA).
• For Rural Health Network and Good Samaritan Society locations, employees without a Bachelor’s degree may be considered with an educational plan to achieve it within five years of hire.
• Five years of nursing experience required.
• Housing with Services, HUD, or assisted living experience is helpful.
• Thorough knowledge of the nursing practice act and standards of nursing care.
• Working knowledge of administrative and management techniques.
• Unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where practicing, or multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
• Maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.
