Director of Nursing - Maternity Suites
Description
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing to lead and manage all aspects of our Maternity Suites unit. This role is pivotal in ensuring clinical excellence, team collaboration, and an exceptional patient experience. The Director will drive strategic goals aligned with our mission while fostering a supportive and innovative environment for both staff and families.
Lead daily operations
- Ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality care for mothers and newborns.
- Serve as a leader in supervising and mentoring clinical staff.
- Promote ongoing education, professional growth, and team engagement.
Champion quality improvement
- Drive quality improvement initiatives, analyzing outcomes and implementing evidence-based practices.
- Oversee regulatory compliance and uphold standards set by accrediting bodies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Support a patient-centered, family-focused model of care.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless care delivery.
Steward resources and staffing
- Manage resources and staffing to achieve operational and financial efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; Master’s in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
- Licensure: Current Maryland RN license and/or Compact State licensure.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, with at least 3 years in nursing leadership within an acute care setting.
- Specialty nursing certification: Required within six months of hire.
- Skills: Proven ability to lead clinical teams, manage complex workflows, and build strong relationships across departments. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Pay and Schedule
Pay rate: $54.94 - $82.40 Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
