Director of Nursing - Low Acuity LTC
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate clinical staff and operations in a low-acuity, non-Medicare facility serving long-term residents.
- Ensure seamless daily functioning, including medication administration, documentation, and resident care routines that honor religious practices.
- Collaborate with external vendors, pharmacy, and therapy providers to coordinate services efficiently.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and HR processes, including interviewing and hiring nursing and caregiving team members.
- Uphold quality assurance practices through daily oversight and continuous improvement efforts.
- Serve as an accessible, steady presence for staff, residents, and families/guardians.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (required)
- 2+ years of nursing leadership experience (supervisory/manager/ADON/DON)
- Long-term care leadership experience strongly preferred (required)
- A leadership style that is flexible, patient, and steady - someone who builds trust and improves systems without abrupt changes.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage operations effectively in a small, private setting.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems (preferably ECP).
- Knowledge of non-Medicare, long-term care practices and compliance.
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience in faith-based or non-profit healthcare settings.
- Skills in developing policies and procedures for quality assurance.
- Ability to work independently and support staff remotely if necessary.
