Director of Nursing Hospice

Summary of Essential Functions

Committed to Caring, a Registered Nurse who is operationally focused and results-driven, improves clinical outcomes and provides overall case management leadership of client care activities within the hospice setting. Ensures compliance, quality of both care and documentation by leading, reviewing, assessing, analyzing, and communicating with the clinical team that all clinical metrics for the branch are achieved.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-5 years of clinical leadership experience with a concentration in the hospice services preferred.
• Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid, home care, hospice benefits, policies, and procedures.
• Comprehensive knowledge of home care, hospice industry compliance requirements and HIPAA Privacy and Security Regulations and accrediting bodies.
• Proficient in directing staff both clinical and clerical to achieve patient and agency outcomes.
• Demonstrates leadership qualities in past achievements and/or previous work experience and possesses superior analysis and issue resolution skills.
• Exhibits the ability to supervise others through effective leadership, team building, and collegial cooperation for the achievement of company goals.
• Exemplifies excellence in both verbal and written communication skills.
• Sets the standard for the branch by ensuring that patients are seen even if it means going into the field to perform visits.
• Must have access to a reliable automobile for transportation that meets state and company regulations regarding liability insurance coverage and possesses a valid driver's license.
• Relates professionally and positively to all staff including those at the corporate level.
• Able to model and embody the company philosophy, mission, and core values through actions, deeds, and communication.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office software including Excel and PowerPoint to be able to produce, instruct, and interpret information and data.
• Able to work overnight travel when necessary to administer and service agency branches or corporate needs.

Educational Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Graduate of an approved college or university with a Bachelors degree preferred.
