About the Role

This position is responsible for providing effective leadership and management of home health clinical and administrative services for assigned locations. The role involves recruiting, training, supervising, instructing, and monitoring professional and ancillary staff rendering care to patients in their homes or ambulatory infusion suite (AIS). Ensures compliance with state, federal, and accreditation regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains knowledge of and compliance with current home health and nursing licensing regulations applicable to the state licensure and applicable Accreditation Standards.
  • Ensures state, federal, and accreditation compliance with agency operations, patient clinical records, and nursing documentation, including required annual meetings and document submissions.
  • Oversees the maintenance of patient clinical records, statistics, reports, and records for evaluation and reporting of agency activities.
  • Responsible for quality management programs, emergency planning, and performance improvement based on agency needs, state, federal, or accreditation requirements.
  • Interprets operational indicators to detect census changes and adjusts staffing levels, revenues, or expenses accordingly.
  • Analyzes nursing payroll metrics to manage productive and nonproductive hours, overtime, and undertime.
  • Coordinates and oversees supervision of all direct and indirect patient services provided by agency personnel, including assisting with patient visits as needed.
  • Manages recruiting, human resource functions, education and training, performance metrics, team communication, on-call management, and coordination with agency partners.
  • Assists Nursing Supervisors and Nursing Team Leaders with developing skills and techniques for evaluating the performance of direct reports.
  • Adequately assesses risk and works well in problem-solving situations, seeking assistance from appropriate resources as needed.
  • Assists with patient home visits as needed.
  • Works cooperatively with other home health agencies and/or staffing agencies to manage authorizations, nursing notes, and invoices for skilled nursing visits.
  • In the absence of the Administrator, acts as the interim Administrator with full authority to act on their behalf.
  • Performs other related duties and projects assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Graduate degree in healthcare from a regional or nationally recognized accrediting agency or a baccalaureate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of Registered Nurse licensure working within scope of practice.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of management experience in home infusion therapy, home health, or a related healthcare organization.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience supervising nurses.
  • Experience supervising direct clinical, professional, and administrative personnel.

Qualifications

  • Holds a current and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
  • Maintains current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and agency requirements and in good working order.
