Director of Nursing (Float Position)

Position Summary

The Director of Nursing (RN) Floater provides leadership support and coverage across facilities in the Central Division, including Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, and Indiana. This role requires an experienced nursing leader who is flexible and able to step in to support facilities as needed.

Requirements

• Active RN license
• Previous Director of Nursing (DON) experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred
• Ability to travel throughout Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, and Indiana
• Must be available for overnight travel
• Strong leadership, clinical, and regulatory knowledge

Specific Job Requirements

• Participates in community health matters/projects as appropriate
• Liaisons with patients, families, support departments, etc. to adequately plan for patient needs
• Collects, analyzes, and manages data
• Expert knowledge in field of practice
• Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility
• Implements and interprets the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department
• Performs functions of a staff nurse as required
• Effectively manages department budget
• Exhibits excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
• Absorbs and evacuates patients as necessary
• Displays dependable, regular attendance
• Concentrates and uses reasoning skills and good judgment
• Communicates and functions productively on an interdisciplinary team
• Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours

Education, Experience, And Licensure Requirements

• Minimum of an ASN degree from accredited college or university
• Currently licensed/registered in applicable State
• Two (2) years supervisory experience in a post acute care or related setting
• CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation
• CPR certification must remain current during employment
