Responsibilities
- Supervises, coordinates, implements and directs the ongoing quality aspects of assigned nursing and patient care areas at Westchester Medical Center.
- Participates in evaluation of quality nursing and clinical practice through peer review.
- Affords assistance in the establishment of quality standards for all aspects of nursing.
- Captures and implements nursing quality policies and procedures by conducting staff conferences and through directives, as needed.
- Affords assistance in the development of quality programs for all staff.
- Captures and coordinates quality programs with specific department heads, as required.
- Investigates and evaluates data and makes recommendations to improve quality patient care.
- Participates in, monitors and evaluates quality improvement activities.
- Participates in hospital and medical quality board committees.
- Affords assistance in the development of department budgets.
- Attends meetings, conferences and seminars as required.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Experience: 6 years of professional nursing experience, including 3 years at a supervisory level, required.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing and six years of professional nursing experience, including three years at a supervisory level.
- Licenses / Certifications: Possession of a valid license and current registration, issued by the New York State Department of Education, as a Registered Professional Nurse.
