Director of Nursing (DON)

About the role

As the Director of Nursing in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) setting, you will organize, develop, manage, and direct the overall operations of the Nursing Service Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. You will work directly with the Administrator and the Medical Director to ensure the highest degree of quality care is maintained for each resident at all times. You will follow all health, sanitary, and infection control policies and maintain established standards of practice set forth by the community's administration and Nursing Policies and Procedures.

Responsibilities

• Organize, develop, manage, and direct the overall operations of the Nursing Service Department.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
• Work directly with the Administrator and Medical Director to maintain high-quality resident care.
• Maintain established health, sanitary, and infection control policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Current, unencumbered RN license in the state of employment.
• Current CPR or BLS certification.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a supervisory role in a nursing community or related healthcare setting, preferably in long-term care.
• Basic computer skills, including the ability to navigate electronic health record software.
