Director of Nursing (DON)

About the role

As the Director of Nursing in a skilled nursing facility, you will organize, develop, manage, and direct the overall operations of the Nursing Service Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. You will work directly with the Administrator and the Medical Director to ensure the highest degree of quality of care is maintained for each resident at all times. You will follow all health, sanitary, and infection control policies and maintain established standards of practice set forth by the community’s administration and Nursing Policies and Procedures.

Responsibilities

• Organize, develop, manage, and direct the overall operations of the Nursing Service Department
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations
• Collaborate with the Administrator and Medical Director to maintain high standards of resident care
• Uphold health, sanitary, and infection control policies
• Maintain established standards of practice per community administration and Nursing Policies and Procedures

Education/Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered RN license to practice in the state of employment
• Current CPR or BLS certification
• Minimum two (2) years of supervisory experience in a nursing community or related healthcare setting, preferably in long-term care
• Basic computer skills and ability to navigate various software programs, including electronic health record software

Pay

Salary: $120,000 – $140,000 per year
