About the role

We are recruiting an experienced, compassionate, and results-driven Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department and ensure the highest standards of resident care in our Skilled Nursing Facility. The DON plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates all nursing services while fostering a culture of clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, organize, and operate nursing services and supportive services for the Health Care Center and residential apartments.
  • Coordinate nursing services for apartment and Health Center residents, including procurement of outside sources such as Home Health Care Services, private duty, hospice, rehabilitation services, and psychological services to meet residents’ needs.
  • Communicate and meet with outside consultants to assess and make recommendations for resident care needs.
  • Coordinate and direct the total planning for nursing services, including recommending staffing plans for licensed and certified nurses’ aides.
  • Develop and maintain an effective restorative care program in collaboration with therapy providers.
  • Select, train, evaluate, and discipline all nursing services personnel.
  • Develop and maintain a schedule of daily rounds and assignments for all nursing staff to ensure 24-hour coverage meeting federal, state, and facility standards.
  • Develop and participate in a new staff orientation program for nursing employees, including private duty and agency staff.
  • Oversee completion of written orientation and annual evaluations of all nursing staff.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance resident outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Maintain a positive work environment focused on employee engagement and resident-centered care.

Requirements

  • Current California RN license in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF).
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a SNF.
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and staff development skills.
  • Excellent clinical assessment, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with survey readiness, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to effectively manage nursing operations, staffing, budgets, and patient care services.

Qualifications

  • BSN preferred; advanced degree a plus.

Pay

Salary Range: $119,184.00 - $157,955.00. Eligible for up to a 10% annual performance-based bonus.
