This position is for a future opening. Hiring is contingent upon STGi’s selection as the successful awardee under an active Request for Proposals (RFP).

About the Role

STGi is seeking a Director of Nursing to oversee nursing services, ensuring high-quality, culturally competent, and individualized care for residents in accordance with their preferences and advance directives.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure medical and nursing care are administered in alignment with resident wishes, including implementation of advance directives.
  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the nursing services department and its programs.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support resident care, administrative functions, and the facility’s mission.
  • Participate in the annual facility assessment and develop, implement, and maintain a Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.
  • Monitor 24-hour and shift-change reports for timely responses to significant changes in residents’ conditions, incidents, or medication errors.
  • Oversee the staff development program to ensure nursing team members are properly trained and equipped.
  • Work with the Infection Preventionist to establish and maintain an infection prevention and control program.
  • Monitor medication administration and treatment schedules to ensure compliance with orders.
  • Actively participate in the QAPI Committee and risk management/safety committees to mitigate risks.

Requirements

  • Current, unencumbered active license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state.
  • Knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of residents.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or related healthcare setting.
  • Minimum of six (6) months of experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
  • Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university (minimum requirement).

Working Conditions

  • Works in office areas and throughout the facility, including its premises.
  • Subject to frequent interruptions and may work beyond normal hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • On-call 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.
