Director of Nursing

About the role

The Director of Nursing role at Reelfoot Manor Health and Rehab is seeking a seasoned nursing leader with a passion for delivering exceptional patient care and leading by example. This position plays a pivotal role in shaping the clinical direction and strategy of the skilled nursing facility.

Responsibilities

• The coordination of resident care with a "hands-on" management style
• Strong organizational skills
• Develops, reviews, and revises nursing and clinical policies
• Able to work days but also willing to be flexible during a staff shortage or emergency situation
• Conduct employee performance evaluations and disciplinary situations to ensure quality care of residents
• Knowledge of Long-Term Care regulations
• Ability to lead in the recruitment of qualified staff by conducting interviews
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
• Ability to focus on customer service and collaboration with other departments to develop, support, and coordinate patient care and related functions
• Promote an atmosphere of respect, professional growth, and encouragement for all nursing staff members and assure regulatory standards and company goals are met or exceeded
• Responsible for cost controls by monitoring the use of supplies and equipment
• Laboratory: Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures that ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care
• Human Resources: Recruit, hire, and train nursing staff, including orientation and onboarding programs
• Develop and implement employee development and continuing education programs
• Foster a positive work environment through employee engagement and recognition
• Quality and Compliance: Conduct regular rounding and quality review to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards
• Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction

Requirements

• Education: Licensed Registered Nurse
• Experience: 3 years Supervisory Nursing Experience, 5 years Long-Term Care Setting
• Licenses/Certifications: Current RN license and CPR/First Aid
