Director of Nursing
THE POSITION
As the Director of Nursing, you will oversee the case management of all children admitted for Day Health Center-Based Services. Working closely with the Center Administrator, you will ensure the safe delivery of services aligned with PHC’s mission and standards. This role involves establishing strong relationships with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals while managing staffing patterns to meet clinical needs. You will also assume the “Acting Administrator” role in the absence of the Center Administrator. Assist in administrative duties and case management.
Coordinate daily clinical activities and respond to emergency situations. Manage staff schedules and ensure compliance with documentation requirements. Collaborate with admissions for effective patient management. Develop comprehensive care plans and coordinate services with other providers. Lead family education initiatives to enhance care confidence. Participate in staff training and development programs. Monitor quality assurance and improvement processes. Help manage the center’s budget and operational reports. Engage in on-call rotations and clinical evaluations.
REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; current Florida RN license required.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year in nursing management and leadership.
- CPR certification required; PALS certification preferred.
- Experience in pediatrics, especially with medically fragile children, is essential.
- Strong communication skills and knowledge of community resources.
