Director of Nursing

Job Type: Full-Time

Location: Los Alamos, NM (Los Alamos Wellness Center)

Responsibilities

• Administration and management of Nursing Services to residents in accordance with physicians' orders and residents' total needs.
• 24‑hour supervision of Nursing Services and direction of the Nursing Department to maintain quality standards of care per Federal, State, and Company regulations.
• Assume responsibility for center operations in the absence of the Administrator.
• Conduct the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—under the State’s Nurse Practice Act for Registered Nurses.
• Coordinate plans for total resident care that comply with physician orders, governmental regulations, and facility policies.
• Communicate and interpret policies and procedures to nursing staff and monitor staff practices and implementation.
• Participate in all admissions decisions and may visit prospective residents before admission.
• Participate in daily and weekly management team meetings to discuss resident status, census changes, personnel issues, and resident complaints or concerns.
• Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of New Mexico.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school.
• At least 2 years of nursing supervisory experience (5 years in long‑term or acute health care preferred).
