The Registered Nurse will be responsible for the administration and management of Nursing Services to residents in accordance with physicians’ orders and the total needs of the residents. The Director of Nursing will inherit a 5‑star, deficiency‑free facility. This role includes 24‑hour supervision of Nursing Services, directing the Nursing Department to maintain quality standards of care in line with Federal, State, and company regulations. In the absence of the Administrator, the Director of Nursing assumes responsibility for the center’s operations. The position conducts the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—under the State’s Nurse Practice Act for Registered Nurse licensure.
Responsibilities
- Assume ultimate responsibility for coordinating plans for the total care of each resident, ensuring compliance with physician orders, governmental regulations, and facility resident‑care policies.
- Communicate and interpret policies and procedures to nursing staff, and monitor staff practices and implementation.
- Participate in all admissions decisions and may visit prospective residents before admission.
- Participate in daily and weekly management team meetings to discuss resident status, census changes, personnel matters, or resident complaints/concerns.
- Perform other duties, responsibilities, and activities as assigned, with or without notice.
Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of practice.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school (required).
- Five years of experience in long‑term or acute health care (preferred).
- At least two years of nursing supervisory experience (required).
