Director of Nursing
Odin Health & Rehab Center is seeking a compassionate and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to join our leadership team. The Director of Nursing is a key member of the leadership team and plays a vital role in coordinating a patient-centered nursing strategy focused on delivering exceptional resident care. This leadership position contributes to the facility’s strategic planning, supports organizational goals, and helps guide and mentor nursing staff in a collaborative and supportive environment.
About the role
- Lead, manage, and support nursing staff in a collaborative, resident-focused environment
- Ensure patient care meets all local, state, and federal regulations
- Oversee nursing compliance and contribute to strategic facility planning
- Train, mentor, and motivate nursing staff while implementing policies and procedures
- Collaborate with physicians, residents, and families to ensure quality care outcomes
- Support quality assurance, risk management, and performance improvement initiatives
- Provide guidance and leadership focused on resident safety and staff success
- Foster a culture of teamwork, compassion, and accountability
Requirements
- Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Previous nursing leadership experience, preferably in a nursing home or long-term care setting
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and best practices
- Team-oriented leader passionate about quality resident care
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Dedicated to supporting staff development and positive resident outcomes
