Director of Nursing

About the role

The Director of Nursing (DON) leads nursing services at Nexus Neurorecovery Center – San Antonio, a specialized residential treatment program for adolescent females with complex behavioral health and medical needs.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain the highest standards of nursing practice and patient care.
• Lead clinical discussions with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Promote evidence-based practice and support clinical decision-making.
• Ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care delivery.
• Review patient satisfaction feedback and implement improvements based on identified trends.
• Support development and implementation of patient care programs and clinical initiatives.
• Participate in emergency preparedness planning, including fire, disaster, evacuation, security, and utility management programs.

Requirements

• Minimum of two (2) years of direct patient care experience.
• Leadership experience in nursing management or healthcare operations required.
• Behavioral health, residential treatment, pediatric, adolescent, or specialty healthcare experience strongly preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
