Director of Nursing

Auburn Manor, Chaska is located at 501N Oak Street, Chaska, MN 55318. This position is specifically for our Skilled Nursing Facility.

About the role

The Director of Nursing (DON) is a licensed registered nurse (RN) who develops, organizes, and maintains a standard of nursing practice compliant with the entity’s objectives and state and federal regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and actively promotes effective communication with all individuals.
• Maintains a positive image of the entity in the community, keeping in alignment with our mission, vision, and values.
• Responsible for on-call services, as assigned.
• Supervises functions, activities, and training of nursing personnel.
• Assures quality of care adhering to best practices around infection prevention and control provided by the nursing department.
• Develops and maintains standards of nursing practice and policies and procedures, and provides oversight of practice.
• Ensures nursing services align with an interdisciplinary process.
• Ensures that duties of nursing personnel are clearly defined and assigned to staff consistent with their level of educational preparation, experience, and licensure.
• Attains and maintains adequate personnel and supplies in the nursing department.
• Assesses resident care needs and assists in the development of individual plans of care as needed.
• Participates in pre-admission screening process for new residents as needed.
• Participates in committee meetings and interdepartmental meetings that align with Quality Assurance Process Improvement Standards.
• Assumes responsibility for nursing service compliance to federal, state, and local regulations.
• Participates in budget formation and operates nursing service within the budgetary guidelines.
• Follows all department safety rules.
• Performs other duties, as assigned.

Requirements

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Minnesota.
• Knowledge and/or experience in geriatrics.
• Management experience preferred.
• Knowledge and/or experience with state and federal regulations.
• Commitment to quality outcomes and services for all individuals.
• Ability to relate well to all individuals.
• Ability to maintain and protect the confidentiality of information.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound decisions.
• Ability to adapt to change.

Pay

Starting at $105,050 per year, with a salary range of $105,050–$132,770 annually, dependent upon experience.
