Director of Nursing

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise hospice nurses, CNAs, and clinical staff.
• Oversee patient care, admissions, recertifications, discharges, and clinical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with Medicare hospice regulations, agency policies, and survey requirements.
• Participate in IDG/IDT meetings and help coordinate patient care plans.
• Support QAPI, chart audits, infection control, emergency preparedness, and ongoing staff education.
• Assist with scheduling, staffing, case management, and clinical problem-solving.
• Communicate with physicians, families, facilities, referral sources, and the hospice team.
• Help build systems so nothing is missed clinically, operationally, or compliance-wise.
• Mentor nurses and hold the team accountable in a positive, professional way.

Qualifications

• Current Arizona RN license required.
• Hospice experience strongly preferred.
• Prior DON, clinical manager, case manager, or hospice leadership experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of hospice eligibility, documentation, IDG, recertification, and compliance.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Organized, dependable, and able to start quickly.
• Comfortable working in a growing company where leadership needs to be hands-on.
• Must be compassionate with patients but also firm and organized with staff expectations.
