Responsibilities
- Supervises all nursing staff and ensures staff provides quality resident care that meets or exceeds regulatory standards.
- Oversees nursing department budget.
- Oversees and manages nurse leadership positions in the community.
- Makes up for the duties of other nurse leadership positions as needed.
- Hires, onboards, trains, develops, and retains nursing staff.
- Affords assistance with duties of other nurse leadership positions as needed.
- Communicates with physicians, residents, and family members regarding resident health and plan of care.
- Ensures nursing staff are trained on new policies and procedures.
- Participates in daily, weekly, and monthly meetings.
- Completes reports and audits in a timely manner.
- Ensures nursing documentation and assessments are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with community policies.
- Reviews restorative nursing procedures for each resident so as to achieve the highest possible degree of function, self-care, and independence based on resident choice, where practical, in collaboration with the MDS Coordinator.
- Promotes positive public relations with residents, family members, and guests.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current State Registered Nurse License.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive nursing experience, preferably in a healthcare setting serving older adults.
- Experience in a leadership capacity preferred.
- Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Schedule
The role is primarily weekdays, with a predictable on-call rotation, and flexibility to balance hours during the week.
