Responsibilities

  • Supervises all nursing staff and ensures staff provides quality resident care that meets or exceeds regulatory standards.
  • Oversees nursing department budget.
  • Oversees and manages nurse leadership positions in the community.
  • Makes up for the duties of other nurse leadership positions as needed.
  • Hires, onboards, trains, develops, and retains nursing staff.
  • Affords assistance with duties of other nurse leadership positions as needed.
  • Communicates with physicians, residents, and family members regarding resident health and plan of care.
  • Ensures nursing staff are trained on new policies and procedures.
  • Participates in daily, weekly, and monthly meetings.
  • Completes reports and audits in a timely manner.
  • Ensures nursing documentation and assessments are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with community policies.
  • Reviews restorative nursing procedures for each resident so as to achieve the highest possible degree of function, self-care, and independence based on resident choice, where practical, in collaboration with the MDS Coordinator.
  • Promotes positive public relations with residents, family members, and guests.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current State Registered Nurse License.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive nursing experience, preferably in a healthcare setting serving older adults.
  • Experience in a leadership capacity preferred.
  • Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Schedule

The role is primarily weekdays, with a predictable on-call rotation, and flexibility to balance hours during the week.
