Director of Nursing
About the role
The Director of Nursing (DON) oversees nursing services in an Inpatient Residential Treatment Facility with or without a Detoxification Unit, and IOP/PHP settings. Key responsibilities include ensuring safe, high-quality, compliant, and patient-centered nursing care, regulatory compliance, staffing strategy, performance improvement, medication management systems, detoxification protocols, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Ensures delivery of safe, high-quality, compliant, and patient-centered nursing care across all levels of care within the facility.
- Provides executive-level oversight of nursing operations, regulatory compliance, staffing strategy, performance improvement, medication management systems, detoxification protocols, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Affirms adherence to applicable state Nurse Practice Acts, federal regulations, licensing and accreditation standards, and organizational policies across multistate operations (TN, TX, VA, FL, NC, IN, MS, AL).
- Serves as a member of the facility leadership team.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
- Prior experience as Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing in a behavioral health setting.
- Experience overseeing Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) services.
- Familiarity with Joint Commission, CARF licensing other regulatory standards.
- Experience managing multi-level care environments (Residential, Detox, IOP, PHP).
- Strong experience in performance improvement and performance management initiatives.
- Experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, detoxification services, and/or IOP/PHP programming.
Qualifications
Desired qualifications include:
- Master’s degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
- Prior experience as Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing in a behavioral health setting.
- Experience overseeing Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) services.

Pay
Salary range: $80,000 - $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
Schedule
Full-time position, Monday through Friday, with some evening and weekend work as needed.
