Director of Nursing

About the role

Establish departmental goals and operational policies that align with clinical, legal, and health system standards across assigned specialty areas. Direct all patient care delivery, quality assurance, complaint management, and external/internal audit readiness. Manage departmental budgets, optimize resource allocation, and remove operational friction to achieve fiscal and clinical targets. Partner with physicians and executive leadership to streamline operations, staff utilization, and equipment workflow. Oversee the full employee lifecycle, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and staff development.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross Accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing or diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. Master's degree or combination of Bachelor's degree and experience preferred.
• Work Experience: 5 years of experience required. 10 years of experience preferred. 2 years of leadership or management experience required. 5 years of leadership or management experience preferred.

Preferences

• ER, ICU or Step-Down Unit experience.
