Director of Nursing

Essential Duties

• Direct and oversee the nursing team (RNs, LPNs, CNAs).
• Develop and implement nursing department policies and procedures.
• Manage department record keeping and nursing staff documentation.
• Manage facility infection control policies and procedures as needed.
• Oversee department budgeting and financial processes.
• Collaborate with medical and clinical teams to plan, carry out, and evaluate patient treatment plans.
• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment.
• Attend staff training and meetings as required by the employer.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with at least a BSN.
• Current active RN licensure in the state where the facility resides, with no disciplinary actions.
• 2 years of direct supervisory experience (5 years preferred).
• Experience in policy management, leadership, and regulation compliance.
• Knowledge of financial reporting, legal regulations, and evidence‑based practice.
• Ability to work compassionately with chemically dependent individuals and psychiatric patients.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and customer service skills.
• Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and referral sources.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions from diverse data sets.
• Active BLS certification.
• Non‑restricted driver’s license.

Work Environment

This position is an in‑person, office‑based role with daily face‑to‑face interaction with staff and clients. The workday often includes sitting at a desk, working on a computer, meeting with clients, and completing paperwork. The environment is temperature‑controlled; standing for periods may be required. Occasional lifting of 50 lb or more, potential exposure to violent situations, and exposure to airborne or blood‑borne pathogens or other infectious materials are possible.
