Director of Nursing

About the role

You will be accountable for designing and implementing innovative programs, improving patient outcomes, and ensuring high-quality, cost-effective care across the continuum in Florence, AL. As the Director, you will collaborate with providers, staff, and leadership to elevate clinical performance and patient experience. You will serve as the accountable leader for all aspects of Emergency Services, driving continuous improvement in outcomes, cost of care, and patient satisfaction.

Partner with quality leadership to ensure compliance with accreditation standards and advance toward becoming a highly reliable organization. Collaborate with other service line leaders, facility leadership, and system executives to provide consistent, patient-centered care. Support provider and staff recruitment, retention, and engagement while demonstrating values through inspirational leadership and a commitment to patient-centered outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of Emergency Services, focusing on clinical performance and patient experience.
• Drive continuous improvement in patient outcomes, cost of care, and patient satisfaction.
• Partner with physicians, advanced practice providers, and hospital leadership to enhance care coordination, patient experience, and service delivery.
• Oversee ongoing staff education, competency, and adherence to clinical and patient safety standards.
• Collaborate with quality leadership to ensure compliance with accreditation standards.
• Support provider and staff recruitment, retention, and engagement.
• Manage budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation in acute care settings.
• Interpret data and implement performance-improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Current Alabama RN License (or eligible for licensure).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant role.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and build effective relationships.
• Experience with budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation in acute care settings.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive performance improvement.
• BLS and ACLS certification required (or obtained within a defined timeframe).
