Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the development, organization, and operation of nursing services and supportive services for the Health Center, Assisted Living (AL), and residential Home Care program.
- Cook up nursing services for community residents, including procurement of outside sources such as hospice, rehabilitation services, psychological services, etc., to ensure residents’ needs are met.
- Communicate and meet with outside consultants as necessary to assess and make recommendations for resident care needs.
- Cook up and direct total planning for nursing services, including recommending staffing plans for the number and levels of licensed and certified nurses’ aides to be employed.
- Select, train, evaluate, and discipline all nursing services personnel.
- Develop and maintain an effective restorative care program in collaboration with therapy providers.
- Develop and participate in new staff orientation programs for employees.
- Oversee completion of department orientation and annual evaluations of all nursing staff.
- Participate in coordination of resident care services through departmental staff meetings.
- Attend, prepare, and analyze necessary information for Quarterly Assurance Meetings and annual policy reviews.
- Develop appropriate action plans and ensure follow-through.
- Implement LCS Standards through the use of resources and programs.
- Develop and maintain a statement of philosophy and standards of care outlining the quality of nursing and medical care provided by the facility.
- Develop and maintain written nursing standards of practice to be ratified by the governing body, including defining routine care provided by licensed and certified nurses’ aides and determining when more care is needed.
- Develop and maintain nursing service policies and procedures to implement standards of care, including coordination and integration of nursing services with other resident care services.
Requirements
- Must have a valid Registered Nurse license in the state of North Carolina
- Must have 3-5 years Director Nursing experience in a long term care setting
- Criminal background check, drug screen, and references required.
