About the role
Sonic Healthcare USA is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Network & Communications to lead the design, security, performance, and modernization of our enterprise connectivity and communications infrastructure. This leadership role oversees network architecture, telecommunications, unified communications, cloud connectivity, and operational excellence across a complex, multi-site healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the enterprise network and communications strategy.
- Lead engineering and operations for LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, cloud networking, voice, and unified communications platforms.
- Ensure highly available, secure, and resilient connectivity supporting laboratories, patient service centers, corporate offices, data centers, and cloud environments.
- Partner with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Cloud Engineering, and Operations teams to support business growth and digital transformation.
- Drive network modernization, capacity planning, disaster recovery readiness, and carrier optimization initiatives.
- Manage vendor relationships, multimillion-dollar budgets, and enterprise telecommunications contracts.
- Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing network and communications teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive networking and telecommunications experience.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing enterprise infrastructure teams.
- Expertise in enterprise networking, routing and switching, SD-WAN, wireless infrastructure, cloud networking, telecommunications, and unified communications.
- Experience supporting large, multi-site organizations and managing significant operational and capital budgets.
Preferred Qualifications
- CCNP, CCIE, Azure Network Engineer, or similar certifications.
- Healthcare industry experience.
- Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Teams Voice, Webex Calling, and Contact Center platforms.
- Strong understanding of Zero Trust and modern network security principles.
