Director of Ministries & Operations

Job Summary

The 360 Life Center Director for The Salvation Army Streator will positively impact the community both practically and spiritually, focusing on those impacted by poverty. This involves building a 360 Life Center team that engages community partners through inspired collaborations, understanding community needs, and sharing the gospel.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Create a spiritual expression of The Salvation Army through local programming, Feeding Ministries, Bible Studies, Live Stream services, and Disaster Services Emotional and Spiritual Care Teams.
• Engage actively in the community to know ongoing needs, develop programs, and improve current assistance.
• Use external presence and relationships to gain new opportunities.
• Prepare and give presentations representing community and Salvation Army needs.
• Communicate The Salvation Army story.
• Analyze the effectiveness of all programs ensuring they comply with the mission and client needs.
• Understand and apply the Pathway of Hope approach, and manage grant and contract activities.
• Network and collaborate with other community partners and agencies.
• Oversee the administration of community meals, including the Food Pantry program, and manage internal operations and warehouse needs.
• Coordinate and supervise seasonal programs and fundraising.
• Work with the Development team on events and fundraising.
• Research and process grant applications, assure compliance, and expand local revenue-generating activities.
• Expand communications efforts to strengthen The Salvation Army's brand.
• Plan, coordinate, instruct, supervise, and evaluate staff performance.
• Create a team based on trust and respect.
• Manage monthly statistical and in-kind donation reports.
• Create and manage annual department budgets and submit them to the 360 Life Center Operations Director.
• Maintain the building and property at acceptable safety and health standards.
• Coordinate with the Continuum of Care (COC).
• Represent The Salvation Army to the COC and other partners.
• Publicly represent The Salvation Army to the community.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in human services, business management, or related field preferred.
• Significant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Personal relationship with Jesus Christ to support mission-based activities.
• Proven experience with business management, social services, marketing, and development, including fundraising success.
• Knowledge and management history of grants and related budgets.

Experience/Qualifications

• Three to five years of leadership experience highly encouraged.

• Establish and implement policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate awareness of budget resources and cost control, as well as planning and administering budgets.
• Proficiency in computer software applications, including email and MS Office.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

• Light to moderate physical work.
• Low to moderate noise level in an office environment.
• Requires occasional travel to meet the needs of the position.

• Reports to the 360 Life Center Operations Director.
